10:50 PM CST . . .
Me: *grabs blanket, settles into couch, opens Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater*
Apartment: *windows rattle*
Me: Hmmm? That's a strong wind gust.
Apartment: *pictures vibrate on walls*
Me: That's not wind . . . is that a tornado?
Apartment: *couch shakes, fan sways, building groans and creaks*
Me: OH! MY! GOD! It's an earthquake.
Apartment: *everything rattles*
Me: I should get in a doorway . . . but the ground is moving . . . *sits still*
Apartment: *stops moving*
Me: Maybe it wasn't an earthquake...maybe something hit the building. *runs to window, looks outside* Nothing. No one. *turns on news*
News: There was a 4.7 earthquake at 2:00 AM in Prague, OK Saturday morning. Most people slept through it. Those on the epicenter did not . . . and we ar getting calls that another was just felt around the metro.
Me: Uh, Yeah!
News: Officials say it was a 5.2. That is tied for a record for the state. * FAST FORWARD 10 min.* It was a 5.6.
My mom felt the earthquake. She lives three hours away. It was creepy. I don't like it when the ground moves. I don't like it one bit.
