The workshop I went to on Saturday was powerful. Three-hundred thousand women (Yes, 300,000) around the world watched the live simulcast. Although the workshop and the book, So Long Insecurity, You’ve Been a Bad Friend to Us are geared toward women, I KNOW the information could really benefit some of my LJ buddies. Many of us struggle with insecurities. Some struggle more than others. I hope this post helps ease your struggle.
Beth Moore said she got the idea for her book from two places: her own fierce battle with insecurities and the answer to this question, “What do you think is the number one issue plaguing women today?”
In keeping with her talk I will use the acronym that Beth uses: S.E.C.U.R.E. How practical, right? J For those of you who are Bible oriented, the bulk of her talk was based on principles found in Ephesians 4: 17-24. However, by no means do you NEED to pull out a Bible to grasp the points she makes.
Before I give you the list, let me start where she started:
Insecurity WILL NOT help you.
Insecurity and humility ARE NOT the same thing.
Insecurity is birthed from unbelief.
