I hope your weekend was wonderful. Mine was busy and fun. Bookclub was full of groans over the book I discussed last Monday http://tracy-d74.livejournal.com/29092.html. It seems I covered the shortcomings of the book very well, so there is nothing left to add. SO I will tell you the title: Book of Fires by Jane Borodale. AVOID it unless you like books with pointless details. I picked the book for next month's gathering. I drew the genre Thriller out of the hat and I chose the book: The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo by Stieg Larsson. Fingers crossed it doesn't suck.
Given my impending unemployment status, I spent some time this weekend predicting what my writing time may look like after June 30 (my last day at current job). NO! Breathe. I'm going to continue to write. I think my betas would break my legs and lock me in a room with a computer if I tried to stop. However, all possible job prospects lead to me having less writing time. As a proactive move, I'm focusing my writing energies on Draft 5 of Diyari Chronicles and finishing The Collector. If my future job requires me to put my writing on the back burner for a while at least I'll know these two are tucked away safe and sound in the obligatory writer's trunk.
While I'm feverishly editing and completing drafts, I may only post once per week. Not that you are sitting around waiting for my post. At least I hope your life is interesting enough that you're not. Know that I'm cheering you on even in my silence. Also know that just because I don't comment doesn't mean I'm not reading. You guys have mad post writing skills. I can't stay away. AND you guys keep getting agents and publishing deals, which means I'll have to swing by and celebrate your successes.
Hugs and Encouragement!
